Loss of Humanity

As technology evolves, machines take over human labor, which causes our society to lose a sense of humanity. Mistakes make us human, yet they can be fatal. Nonetheless, the government banning human drivers would lead to loss of identity, change in the economy, and true societal collapse.

Although around 94% of car accidents are caused by human error, the ban would cause severe damage to civilization. In our lives, driving is a crucial part of living. Being unable to drive would lead to ignorance in the new generation. The inability to visit places without assistance is an issue itself: lack of self-reliance. As a nation, we would fully rely on machines to continue each day. It would lead to decay: illiteracy, the inability to work, and an unhealthy excess of leisure. Additionally, spontaneity forces the human brain to make decisions and learn to problem-solve without the influence of another person. With AI controlling our daily lives, everything would be predictable.

Human driving becoming obsolete may seem harmless, but it is the first step to the intellectual deterioration of humans.
